Quick Poll Results: Top Retail Trend for 2008
QUICK POLL RESULTS
Last month we took a look at the myriad of new challenges that retailers and brands are facing in the coming months, as we cope with issues of sustainability and transparency, undeniable price increases, and the continued search for the Holy Grail that will lead us to health and wellness.
And while last month's issue of Food, Nutrition & Science covered what we expect for retail trends in 2008, we wanted to know what you think will top the list. Here's what we found out in last month's quick poll. 
Our quick poll asked, “Which do you think will be the top one retail trend for 2008?” The number one answer at 41% was “new whole grain foods and probiotics”. Coming in second, 23% of our readers selected “waste reduction for packaging and materials” as the top trend. Twenty percent chose “better tracking and increased inspections” and in last place, 16% chose “increasing prices to ensure safety.
