In the previous months, you've already read that the deaths of thousands of pets have been traced to pet foods with wheat gluten and rice proteins imported from China, which were found to contain melamine and melamine-related compounds. Two months ago we conducted a quick poll to find out what how our readers felt the recall would affect future sales. Here’s what you had to say:
We asked, “Since the pet food recalls, how long do you think it will take for sales to recover?” The majority of our respondents felt between one year and six months with 23% answering “one year” and 23% answering “six months”. Twenty-one percent felt like only “three months” would be enough to for sales to bounce back. Thirteen percent of our not-so-optimistic readers said as long as “two years” and seven percent said as long as “five years”. Another 13% said sales “never will recover.”
